Repeat classes at a community college

I am confused about the repeat policys for transfers. Many of the universitys have policys about how they will accept repeated courses, but do those policys apply to courses failed at the university or everywhere you've been? I have three F's in math, remedial courses at a community college. First F in algebra and another in Intermediate algebra. I retook Algebra and failed again. Took it one more time and got a B. I then retook intermediate Algebra and got another B. Will the community college replace both F's and if so will UC's accept it that way when calculating my GPA or will they accept only one repeat. My GPA with one repeat each is 2.89 (The second F and the B in Algebra included, but excluding the first F in intermediate Algebra) I already have 36 transferrable units (52 all together since remedials dont transfer) and ideally have only 30 more semester units to raise my GPA before transfer. It is much higher with both Fs replaced. Also, after failing remedial classes so many times should I forget about UCs? I want to be a Spanish Major.

No, as long as keep your GPA above 3 (ideally higher) you should be able to get into a UC. I doubt that they would care about failing remedial math classes in the past, especially as a Spanish major

They only count the passing grade in your UC GPA. Talk to a counselor for your other questions.

Your F’s won’t be calculated into the GPA if you retook the class, so neither F’s will be in your GPA. Also, remedial classes aren’t UC transferable and are not computed in your UC GPA anyways.

^ That’s a good point, I forgot.

Thanks so much for all the replies!

I didn’t know remedial classes didn’t even go toward the GPA, that really helps me out.
