Reply date question

is there any advantage to letting Bard know now instead of by the uniform reply date of May 1? I am helping a student who is still mulling over financial aid options but she is pretty sure that Bard is for her. However, she doesn’t want to miss out on housing choices or any other options that may be available on a first come first served basis. Any advice?

My daughter has let them know already that she will attend, and as far as I know, she has not yet been given any options to consider. We’re attending Accepted Students Day on Saturday, so I may know more after that.

I don’t think there are any first come first served options. You should be okay waiting until May 1. Housing questionnaires don’t come until after May 1. And you don’t sign up for classes as a freshman until the end of L&T.

Just back from Accepted Students day. They mentioned that packages, including housing forms, would be sent out soon after the May 1st reply date (as Spirit Manager also noted). Room assignments won’t be finally set until just before you are to show up for L&T. The student leading our dorm tour also said that the room you move into for L&T was the room you would keep. That had been one of my concerns.
