Reply from UCLA about class change!!!

FIANLLY!!! i told UCLA that i dropped a pre-req on this tues and now i got their email which is the following:

We have received your recent inquiry concerning your admission and/or change in your course schedule. Based on your self-reported information, your eligibility will not be affected by these changes. However, your admission will not be final until official records have been received.

so i should be fine, right? or does it mean i still have to wait until they get my final offical transcript?

This really doesn’t tell you anything IMO. They are basically saying that they can’t make anything final until they receive your official transcripts. I would be a little worried, especially if you were admitted to an impacted major. Why did you drop a pre-req?

Hi, do you mind if I ask what major you applied for and what class you dropped?
Thanks!

What the hell are you talking about kc_sunshine101?

No one’s admission is final until official transcripts are provided.

Congrats uright123!

Completely agree!!!
No one’s is certain until the final grades are out!

thx!!! so as long as i keep up my GPA, then i wont get rescinded? btw, i am biochem major and i dropped ochem because i was taking ochem and bio together. the workload is soooo heavy that i cant bear anymore. so i decide to give up ochem.

Yeah, you should be fine.

Tiberius-excuse me for being overly cautious. I work in the transfer center at my CCC and have seen people’s dreams shattered over and over again because they drop classes, decide not to take the ones they should or take bad advice from people that aren’t qualified to give it. So, “what the hell I am talking about” is out of concern for the OP that he/she didn’t make a mistake.

Uright-call UCLA and get some clarification. Don’t take the info that you get on a message board to heart. Cover your butt and be sure that you are on the right track. Good luck.

kc_sunshine101, if you even read what uright123, he got this information from an e-mail from UCLA…

Clearly you working at a transfer center doesn’t amount to you giving any sound advice.

Yes, he received an e-mail that he IS STILL CONFUSED ABOUT. Obviously he needs clarification and my advice is to CALL UCLA not take info from people on a message board (including me). It’s HIS future, not ours. Have a nice day.

i emailed them immediately and just got another reply saying they cannot make my admission official until the official transcript has been received and they will need to see my grades in this quarter. well, i guess i cant do anything now…

Uright-Call them ASAP. I’m sure that they will tell you it’s fine, but make sure. If it’s not OK for some reason, maybe there is still time to re-instate yourself in the class. Good luck!!

ya i was trying to call them but the line was busy… i’ll call them on mon

Let us know what happens! good vibes

I updated my class change on monday night and still no response…
I didnt drop a prereq class… just dropped a non-prereq class…why r they taking so long…
what reason did u give for dropping that class?

i just told them the workload of both classes r too heavy, so i dropped one.

btw, did u check ur remail? the title for my email is PPF STATUS, i didnt know that is their reply at first… i almost delete it.

OMG!! THX FOR TELLING ME THAT!!
they emailed me the same stuff!!! but at first i deleted it because i thought it was a junk mail!!
thank you so much!!!
I am going to work hard on my ochem class now… it’s painful…i hope i can pass it =[[

np, so do u think if we keep up our GPA, then we wont get rescinded?

The letter means that if you reported your grades in the application correctly then dropping that class won’t affect your admission.
