Reply to all the letters after getting accepted?

DD got the acceptance letter on M10. Since then, we received several personal congrats letters from the school headmaster, director of admission and another admission committee member. Besides replying to admission office for enrollment in the mail, should we reply to each personal congrat letter? Will appreciate your thought on this matter.

I replied to a congrats phone call and some congrats emails that involved certain programs I was interested in (sports) with questions that the coaches were happy to answer. I didn’t reply to everything though. I’ll be thanking admissions officers (some of whom I got congrats notes from) and such when I visit back.

No, it would be like answering a thank you letter. If something came in the email, it would be appropriate to reply with a “Thank you very much, looking forward to the fall…”

If they are personal congratulations in the mail, you shouldn’t respond. If they are something like an email or phone call, you may want to respond, particularly if they are sent from a specific coach or teacher. If something, for example, from the lacrosse coach came as an email to congratulate her, respond with a short and sweet email along the lines of “Hi so-and-so! I am thrilled to be admitted and looking forward to my revisit, which will be on this date. I hope to meet with you then. Thanks again. Sincerely, blah blah blah.”

Which schools are those? We didnt get any personal letters

@Cariar I was accepted to Milton & SPS. My interviewer from Milton reached out to me through an email, and a junior at Milton (who had attended my current school) sent an email to me today.

The director of admissions wrote a personalized letter to me (included in my acceptance package), including reasons why they accepted me, etc… My SPS interviewer also sent me an email later on. A freshman at SPS from Beijing (I live in Shanghai) also made himself available to me (via email again).

I’ve responded to all the emails/letters I received from SPS because I’ve already decided to join their 3rd Form this fall. However, I’m not really sure about how I should respond to Milton. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

@boardingschoolx It depends. If you felt that they went out of their way to be good to you (aside from accepting you), you can write a note to whoever did such. If not, send a quick emaill thanking them, saying the opportunity was hard to turn down, but you’ve decided to attend another school, would probably be great.

@stargirl3 Thanks so much! I’m going to follow your advice :)
