Report Card sent to college..

For my school, the first marking period ends on Nov. 15th, however I want to apply ED to a school whose ED deadline is Nov 1st. If my guidance counselor sends my transcript to them later (Around Nov. 15th but probably later because it takes time to process all the grades), will it make it on time? Do they make exceptions for situations like this? What should I do? Help!!

The deadline is Nov 1st but they usually don't sit down to read apps until the 15th or after.

Will my guidance counselor be sending the transcript after the deadline?

They don't see any senior grades for ED. Your transcript will have your grades through junior year and the list of courses you take senior year with no grades.
That's why they tell you if you need to demonstrate strong senior year grades (i.e. early high school grades weren't great- don't apply ED)

I've gotten all A's throughout high school except in junior year, where I got two B's. I am certain that this is my first choice school, and I'm hoping that these two B's won't affect me significantly (my rank is still pretty solid). However, I AM afraid that adcoms may think that I have a 'downward' trend. Would a slight decrease in GPA affect me greatly? Instead of the normal 5 honors classes that I've taken in 9th and 10th grade, I took 4 Honors classes and 2 AP classes (6 weighted classes total), so the workload was definitely an increase. What will adcoms think?

By the way, thanks for the reply. So, my guidance counselor will send out my transcript (for my ED school) by Nov. 1st or earlier?

Our kids' GC says he sends the transcripts before the deadline & then sends the 1st quarter grades as soon as they're available. He sends the 1st semester grades afterwards, as soon as they're available too.

Ask your GC what your school's policy is--that's the only way to know for sure how things are done at your school. The way our kids' school does things seems the safest, because your ap may not be considered complete until ALL pieces are received by the college.
