report successes after graduation here!

On the directing front, 2008 Tisch grad (Playwrights) was selected as a Directing Fellow for The 2010 Directors Project by the Drama League. Great news for this creative, hardworking artist!

And I just love good news… Another Tisch 2008 grad (first Cap 21, later Playwrights) was nominated by Drama Desk for Best Music in a Play (one of 6 nominees). His mother used to post here, but I haven’t seen a post from her in a long time.

Two Webster grads (circa 2006) are in the Las Vegas Jersey Boys cast, and Natalie Wisdom, a 2007 Webster grad has been in the ensemble of Billy Elliot on Broadway since last September. Go Webster :)

Congrats SEATA!

An '09 grad from CMU who used to post here just got cast in the equity tour of 9 to 5 and another girl was cast in the equity tour of Mary Poppins. A third '09 CMU grad landed himself a wonderful role as the teacher in Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family…Tuesday nights at 8 :)

kaysmom - Thanks for the CMU news - what a class! It gives us hope for when our kids are out there…

Just found out yesterday that our D, PSU '07 MT grad, will be playing Regina on the first Broadway National Tour of Rock of Ages!!! Everyone of her classmates (ok there were only 10, but still!) have worked since graduating…go PSU!!

bdway…hooray for C!! Glad to hear her very happy news. Congrats!!

Thanks Soozie…still pinching ourselves a bit ;0) Hope all is well with you and your family. Would love to catch up at some point…

Caroline Bowman (Penn State musical theatre '10) has been cast to play Lady in the Lake in the national tour of 'Monty Python’s SPAMALOT.

Hi, In case any of you will be in NYC next week, My S. will be presenting his new musical :
SOMETIMES IN PRAUGE>>> This is a work in progress, but seems very promising. There is a full band . It will be at “The Tank” 354 W.45 St. NY NY. Aug 5- 7:30 and Aug.6 at 9:30.
My S. is a graduate of NYU Playwrights, and is now a directing major at Carnegie Mellon. The composer is a NYU Cap21 graduate, and the producer is a NYU Playwrights graduate now at Columbia for a grad degree in Producing. They have already had works in the Fringe Festival and NY musical theater festival. Hope to see you there! Cam

camge, I want to congratulate your son on his musical! I bet my daughter would have gone but she is coming home for a rare visit. And I’ll just miss it too as we are going to NYC the day after your son’s show to see our D in a show.

Anyway, I just looked up his show and saw a photo of my D’s best friend and current roommate and it is a small world…she must be in the show!! (she is a Tisch/CAP21 grad) I just didn’t realize it. This same girl had a lead in the musical my daughter wrote.

Congrats to your daughter bdwaymom!!
And to your son, Camge. I’ll send along your post to my son. I’m sure he’d love to attend.

Thanks so much, Soozievt, I think our children finally met at the birthday party last night. What a small world! Cam

OH! I don’t know which birthday party that was. Haven’t spoken to my D since midday yesterday. She never mentioned a party. But our kids likely have many friends in common. As I already mentioned, it was a funny surprise to open a site about your son’s show to see a photo of my D’s roommate/friend who is in it apparently!

PS, I just saw a cast list for your son’s musical and besides my D’s BF/roommate who is in it, another very close friend (girl) is also in it!

My S graduated from Point Park in May and has been cast in the upcoming Broadway Revival of Anything Goes! We are doing the happy dance at our house!

A BIG congratulations to your son! That is sooooo exciting! Way to go! Can’t get much better than that. All the best.

Congrats to your son, bbutcher! What a wonderful opportunity for him to get to work with Joel Grey.

If I’m not mistaken, we have some CC kids in the West Side Story tour that launched this week, so all the best to them, too.

Congratulations to you and your son bbutcher- all the hard work is paying off!!!

Go Point Park!!!
