Reported wrong GPA on application

I submitted my application with the wrong GPA, and my counselor did also.

I recently changed schools, and my old school told my current counselor that my GPA was 3.6/4.0. I found out a few days ago about their reporting such a low GPA, so I looked at my transcript to see that my GPA is in fact 3.9/4.0. I have also confirmed this with my old school, which says it was an "administrative mistake."

I have told me counselor, and he says he doesn't know whether I/he should update Harvard by email, or just send an update with the mid year report.

You should send a fax (or email) to admissions correcting your GPA and explaining the reasons(s) for the administrative mistake. Your GC should also send a fax (or email) confirming the mistake. And it should be done ASAP. Your GC (and you) should NOT wait for the Mid-Year Report! Do it next week!
