I submitted my application last Sunday night. I was reviewing my application yesterday and noticed that I had made a huge mistake in entering the number of weeks for one of my volunteering activities. I had unknowingly added twice the amount of weeks that I have actually worked. (I entered in 35 weeks instead of 17 weeks) I'm extremely worried. How will this affect my admission? What should I do. I just emailed UC about it, but are there other things I can do to correct this?

This actually happened to a friend of mine. Call them.

This happened to my son’s app too. He mistakenly over-reported 30 more hours. His counselor said that it’s just a minor mistake, no need to worry.
I guess it all depends on how many hours you over-reported. If the difference of the hours are huge, then you probably need to contact the admission office for corrections.

I think I added like 36 extra hours. (35 weeks -17 weeks x 2 hours/week). I feel like adding an extra 36 hours isn’t really a ‘minor mistake’.

@toan, you can email the admission office; or once your application are distributed to the campus you applied, you can contact individual office too. My son will probably contact each campus for correction since he also made another mistake.
It’s something you can fix, so don’t worry too much!

thanks younglookingmom I’ll try to call them tomorrow as they are not open on the weekends

UC is the only know school system to actually employee people to check things they question,
