Reporter looking for students/parents to talk about college affordability and coronavirus

My name is Andrew Kreighbaum, and I’m a reporter at Bloomberg Government. I’m writing a story about how many families will need additional financial aid for college because of coronavirus.

I have received permission from College Confidential to post this message.

The story is focused on the financial aid appeals (professional judgement) process at college financial aid offices. But I’m interested in speaking with students or parents about any options they are considering to cover gaps in cost.

You can reach me at akreighbaum@bgov.com. Thanks!

I hope you also plan to interview colleges to find out how they are going to handle the many, many requests they are likely to receive this year. Professional judgment is not required…and some colleges don’t do it at all. Those that do, do it on a case by case basis. I think knowing how colleges are going to handle this is more valuable than hearing from many families who are going to be in a tentative college financing situation this year.

My opinion.
