So I am finishing up my Common Application and I have a few questions regarding the self reporting portion of the ACT and SAT II’s. Let me give you a run down. Back in March of 2014, I took the SAT I and did not do well on it, so I decided that taking the ACT would be a much better shot for me. So in October, I took the ACT and received a 29C (31E, 32M, 29R, 25S, 12 writing). I then retook the ACT in December and got a 34C (33E, 34M, 33R, 34S, 12 writing) and I also took the SAT IIs in December. On the self report page for the common app, can I only self report my best ACT score and say on the box that I only wish to report one score? The December one. Or do I have to state that I took the ACT twice but only list the score in December? Furthermore, may I only officially report the December ACT score to colleges or do I have to send both scores to all of the colleges I am applying to? Also, if not, I would prefer not to send in my SAT I score from March and I don’t think that I have to even state to the colleges that I am applying to that I took it at all. Sorry for the long post, but I am having a semi-panic attack right now! Thank you!
You can choose which ACT score to send, but some schools require you to send ALL ACT or SAT scores. Check the school’s website to see if this applies.
