Son took an AP Calc AB class that was split across 2 grade levels: the Spring of 10th grade, and then Fall of 11th grade (Spring of 11th was AP Calc BC).
Today, just as he was about to hit Submit on his application, it generated a warning, saying it appears he took AP Calc AB twice. This is not the case; it was just split across 2 grade levels. Should he just ignore the warning and submit? Adjusting to remove one of these classes would be untrue, and would be reflected whenever he needs to send in his transcript.
Did he fill out the CSU application properly by entering AP calculus Fall term No grade for the 1st grade level, the letter grade for Spring term on the same grade level. Then enter the course again with the letter grade for the 2nd grade level Fall term followed by No grade for Spring term fir the 2nd grade level?
If so, then submit.
Sorry, I’m not sure I’m following, and perhaps I wasn’t clear/didn’t give enough info:
Fall of 10th grade was PreCalc, and then Spring was first half of AP Calc AB. Fall of 11th was the 2nd half of AP Calc AB. (And Spring of 11th was Calc BC.) This is the accelerated math pathway at his HS.
If it was a typical math class (same class across 2 semesters in 1 grade level), he’d still enter in both grades for each semester, so not sure what, if any grades, need to be left off. Thanks!
He would enter Precalc under 10th grade Fall term with a letter grade. Spring term for the same class would be No grade.
10th Grade Fall Term No grade for AP Calc AB, then a letter grade for Spring term AP Calc AB 10th grade.
For 11th grade, he would enter in AP Calc AB for Fall term with letter grade, then No grade Spring term.
For 11th grade, he would enter in AP Calc BC for Fall term No grade and then Spring term a letter grade.
See if this works.
