Reporting AP Scores

My son has a 4.0 unweighted GPA, a #1 ranking in his class, and scored a 32 on his ACT. He also took two APs exams this spring and only received a 3 on each of them.

In terms of acceptance at competitive colleges, is he better off including or not including his AP exam scores on his application?

Is it unethical or wrong to not include your child's AP scores with his/her college application?

Thoughts?

No, it is not unethical or wrong, unless the college says it requires them (I have never seen one that does). AP scores only need to be sent to the college he is attending to get credit or placement.

No. Most colleges require either an ACT or an SAT. Many require a couple of SAT Subject Matter tests. APs are for college credit. If you want to, you can self-report, but they are not required. If you do not think that the scores of 3 will help, then simply don’t report them. No worries.
