I took an AP test my junior year and got a 1 on it. I was wondering if i had to report the score to the school if I put down on the application that i took the test.

From what I've seen here on CC, you only HAVE to report AP scores if and when you are seeking college credit for classes based on your test scores.

if thats just your only AP test then dont send your report.

did you report the score on your UC application though?

I'm in the same situation and have heard many people saying that I don't have to report if I don't get any credits... but would my admission to the school ever be jeapardized if I specified on my application and don't send the actual transcript in to verify?

that's the thing...it appears that to be safe, you should send them anyways

and if you don't want to pay the money now to have them sent, then call up ucsd and ask them yourself

If you don't send your official scores, I doubt that would affect admission. I knew someone who reported all his AP scores on the app, but CollegeBoard didn't send his scores from junior and sophomore year for some reason, but no one ever said anything about it..

You won't get ANY credits, Dreamingsnail?? Since you mentioned your AP scores on the app, I am assuming you at least passed the tests which would get you elective units, and if that is the case I highly recommend you send them. Even if you are not exempt from any classes, you can get units which will get you a better class registration time.

Well, I took some AP exams and those scores will be sent to the school unless College Board makes a mistake (which rarely does happen it seems..). What I was referring to was my IB transcript. I took some IB exams my junior year but they were standard levels.. (no credits for standard IB exams... NONE!) I'm going to send those IB scores anyway just to be safe, but thanks for your comments, people!
