Reporting Changes/ Rescinds...help?

So I need some help/advice/etc.
When I reported my Spring Coursework (in January), I wrote that I was taking a bunch of classes that I turned out not to take (because the classes were full or interfered with required courses). I still will have completed all IGETC work and prereqs for my major. There are like 4 classes that I said I was going to take that I am not really taking anymore.

My question is: if I wait until April 30th (for UCB and UCLA), and then report my changes after, do I have a big chance of getting rescinded? I wouldn't think so because I will still have completed all I need to. The classes I am not taking anymore, which I initially reported are: Math 1C (last calculus class), Econ 2 (micro), Poli 2 (Compar.), and Anth 1 (physical). Again, none of these classes are "required" for my IGETC or prereqs.

Does anyone know/ have any experience/ have any idea?
Has anyone been rescinded, and for what (personal experiences)?

Thanks!

Honestly, I think decisions are already made or very close to being made and if your particular paperwork hasn’t been brought to the table (however rare that may be) I think you should let them know NOW. From other threads of the past applicants, UCLA Admissions seems jammed packed with phone calls and such after the transfer admissions are announced and thus I wouldn’t waste any time. Give them a call tomorrow and ask an admissions officer what you should do but again since they aren’t needed for anything, I don’t see how it can affect you, but again, I recommend you letting them know asap!

Best of luck!

Wow,

I am not sure, but I would tell them ASAP. I don’t know if that will hurt you, but they might rescind you on the basis that you know and withheld information.

But because they are not required classes, it should not affect you too much. However they are UC transferable, which might go against you.

I dropped a non-uc transferable class and told them in February. They said that it wont affect me at all because it is non-uc transferable and that I don’t need the class.

Good luck.

Whats your major?

One of my planned classes (that I put on my UC update) got cancelled this quarter. That class is a GE class and my major is science (with a lot of units prior to transfer), so my counselor said it does not matter or affect anything. But I just sent UCLA a quick update yesterday (just for the record).

I think you should just send them an email right now before the decisions are out, because you are not taking that class anyway if you update before or after they release the decision.

my reported major is political science. i emailed the changes to UCLA. Berkeley says to send postal mail only. the spring quarter just started a couple weeks ago, and the last day to add classes was this past friday… would it be that bad to just tell berkeley afterwards?

I feel your pain. I did the same exact thing. So far I’ve only been accepted to UCSB out of the five campuses I applied to. When I called UCSB asking for clarity, they told me to send them an email with my specific situation. Well, that was almost two weeks ago and I haven’t gotten any response. When I called UCSD asking them the same question, they told me to wait until I was accepted (or rejected) and worry about it then.

My biggest concern is that I will eventually submit my SIR, but I will not know 100% whether or not I will be rescinded at the last second. I accept the blame for making the schedule adjustments, as I should have known better, but I wish these admissions offices were staffed with people who could answer these types of questions. It’s so irritating!

me too pugbrain !! :[ i went to the wrong lab course and got dropped from my original lab course to let another student have my seat… It’s one of my pre req and Ive been admitted to UCSD so far ! So we can call and ask them about the situation? Ive already emailed the rest of the schools…
