Reporting Future SAT Testing Date

Hey all,
If we report a future SAT testing date, must we definitely take it on the reported date?
I'm still undecided if I should retake the SAT.

Should I indicate that I will be retaking?

Good Q, and I’m interested in responses you get. My DD is in the same boat. She took SAT for the 2nd time on Oct 5 and has signed up for Nov 2 as a back-up only, in case she is not totally satisfied with her new scores that come out Oct 24. If she is satisfied, she won’t re-take on Nov 2. If she submits any apps before Oct 24, does she have to report the Nov 2 date when she is unsure about taking it? I think it might be better for her to wait until Oct 24 and has test results before submitting so that she can indicate whether she is taking it again Nov 2 or not.

^^^
The November SAT date is probably too late for any applications that would need to be submitted before Oct. 24 anyway. If she is signed up for the November SAT and she has to submit the application before she has seen her October scores, then in my opinion she should report that she is taking the Nov. SAT. Of course, she can always choose to not self-report SAT scores, and then the whole problem goes away. I think your last sentence provides the best solution to the problem.

Hmm, actually in my case I’m thinking of taking the Dec SAT Test.
If I get rejected or deferred for my ED/EA offers, then I’ll probably use the Dec scores for them as well as my RD applications.

I’ll probably just indicate my intention to take another SAT test.
