Hi all,
I applied to Harvard SCEA.
I just realized that, in the parent education section of the Common App, I wrote that one of my parents (who graduated from Harvard Law School) received a JD from “Harvard College.” I guess that I completed this part of the application hastily, and there was no “Harvard University” option listed.
Will this mistake affect my admissions chances at all?
Thanks.
Highly doubt it. There appear to be several drop down options which can be confusing. I am sure you are not the first. It is in the Common App general section so you can still fix it for other apps by choosing “Harvard University Enrolled Students” in the drop down.
Thank you. “Harvard University Enrolled Students” doesn’t seem right. After all, my parent isn’t currently enrolled. I just saw that you can manually add a school that isn’t listed in the drop-down: I filled out the information for Harvard Law.
It really does not matter. While not the OP’s question, please note that for admissions purposes, only those with a parent who attended undergrad are considered legacy.
