"Reporting Midyear Grades"

So I'm assuming everyone (deferred and accepted?) got the email of reporting midyear grades.

I was accepted. And I'm was taking three AP classes and an elective, so I got two A's (93's) and two B's (89ish)..so I'm assuming I'll be fine.

They're just seeing if we're still in line? Because I thought that we were only going to submit our final year grades, and that's all.

Does anyone know any more about this? (even though I doubt that there can really be much more to it than what it really is)

lol you’re fine. Just submit them once you get them finalized.

I got this email too

The kids are taking finals right now. I know that my son reported the results of his calc III final to me me last night but we’ll have to wait at least a week for the others. This is a self report, right?

I noticed this e-mail as well. Yes, it is a self-report.

I got an email too.

i got accepted and got 2 A’s in 2 regular classes and 4 B’s in 4 AP classes. I should be ok right?
Also, do they want us to report both the letter grade and the number grade? or both? thanks!

I think you only report number grades if that’s what your school gives you on your report cards or if they list your number grades on your transcript.

Quoted from UNC: “Please indicate the letter grade for each course and, if your school uses numerical grades, the numerical grades as well.”

So, you should include both letter and numerical grades.

it’s not necessary accepted and deferred. i’m regular decision and i was asked as well.

I took a look at it and I don’t think it would allow you to post both. It appears to be either or, but I could be wrong. But if someone knows better please chime in.

Yeah you can do both. I did.

cool. thanks.

Ok my transcript doesn’t list number grades but I think I want to include them anyways. I got an 84.1 in AP Calculus AB which is 0.4 points away from a B, so do you think that will help me by listing the number grade lol? I just want to make sure there isn’t a chance I get rescinded and I hope they see that I didn’t slack off considering I got high grades in my other classes. I know one C isn’t a big deal, but I might get another C in Calc BC so I just want to make sure I stay at UNC. I’ve worked too hard to get into UNC and I don’t want calculus to kick me out…heh. I’ll certainly aim for the B in calc BC this semester though.

My report card doesn’t have my midyear grades for my AP courses (which run all year).. They have my first quarter and 2nd quarter grades.. =</p>

My report card:
AP Music Theory - A/A (midterm 80, but don’t know how much it weighs - think teacher hinted at it being counted as a test grade.. if so, I’ll have an A)
AP Physics - B/A (midterm 82, don’t know how much it weighs)
AP Eng Lit - A/B (midterm 96, don’t know how much it weighs)
AP Psych - B/A (midterm 96, don’t know how much it weighs)

3 other classes (2 AP, 1 Honors) I know I have As in

Should I put.. A, B, A, A? or what?

I am a tad perplexed about something.

My classes are every-other-day, yearlong courses, so I have not yet “completed” them. Would I check “I did not take/complete this course last semester/quarter” when I am editing an entry? Or not? And if I do need to, what do I put as my explanation?

Yup, on the admitted students website, an admissions counselor says:

Alright, thanks.

Does anyone know if midyear grades can impact honors acceptance and/or scholarships? I’ve been accepted EA to UNC but haven’t heard anything about honors/scholarships thus far…and my semester grades/gpa have increased substantially since acceptance…any ideas?

okay, will colleges email you once they need midyear grades? can you just send them or is there a special form?
