I just did my SAT Subject Test in Maths II, and I'm worried the results will be horrible (high 600/low 700-ish). It's been a year since I was in high school, and to say I was unprepared would be a gross understatement.

I have previously achieved 2350 (CR/M: 800; WR: 750) for SAT: Logic and Reasoning, as well as 800 and 790 for SAT Subject Tests in Chemistry and World History respectively, on my first and only attempts.

In light of this, is it possible that I go ahead and submit my current test scores to Stanford, Pomona and Yale (which require all scores to be reported) without including Maths II? Will CollegeBoard update the schools wrt. my Maths II taken later?

Dude, those scores are already good enough for excellent schools. You may as well just give yourself a break for a while, relax, and take the Math II in December.

They require all scores so it should not hurt you to send all the scores now and update them with more scores if you have new ones. The key here is that if you just took the test, you get 4 free scores now, so why not use the free service now. Also, CB will not send updated score, you are responsible for sending/paying for the sending of any future scores. And also, if you are applying for early decision, they need to have Math II score now. I believe all of those schools require Math II as an application requirement.

Those three schools need only two SAT IIs. As long as you are not applying to Harvard, Princeton, or Georgetown, which require three SAT IIs, you don’t need the math (unless applying engineering elsewhere and the particular school requires a math for engineering to be one of your two SAT IIs, e.g., MIT). However, Stanford, Pomona and Yale require all scores to be sent and they don’t say that you can send some early to avoid sending future ones if the futures ones are bad. In other words, you should assume all scores means all scores and thus decide what to do. The College Board itself will not update your scores to the college. However, right now you are in a College Board overlap period. If you go and order all scores to be sent now without exercising score choice, CB may not actually send scores until your October score comes out and thus send it with the others. One option you have if you believe you bombed the math test, and don’t need it, is to cancel it (and get no score) and I believe you can do that that within five days of taking the test so you could do it today. You are not required to report having taken a test if you get no score and CB does not report that you took a canceled test. Note, however, if you actually score in the 700s you should not consider it a bad score even for those schools.

drusba is right and I was mistaken, it appears that you do not need to send your MathII as an application requirement for these schools. drusba suggestion is a good one, you can cancel if you feel really bad about the MathII, what you have already is good enough for any schools including the very competitive ones like Stanford. You will lose your MathII score and may have to take one later if other schools that you apply require it.

Especially drusba. God knows what hundreds of college students would have done without you.

Well, I didn’t cancel because I’m still harbouring hopes for Princeton/MIT, so I took the risk of sending my scores early.

Up until I paid, the CollegeBoard website displayed that I was sending “All Scores” to the 3 colleges, but my invoice mentioned that I sent only “Some Scores” even though I sent them all my available scores.

Will CollegeBoard let them know that I sent only some scores?!
