<p>Stupid, stupid question, but exactly how do you report rank on the Common App?</p>

<p>My school doesn't rank students for college admissions purposes, but it does keep a rank for scholarship opportunities. I found out that I was ranked no. 3 in a class of 600 (in the top 1%), but since the guidance counselors say they don't report rank for college applications, they haven't explained to us how to do it.</p>

<p>For the "Class Rank Reporting" drop-down menu, should I click "Exact" and then type "3" in "Class Rank"? Or on the drop-down menu, should I click "Decile," "Quintile," or what instead?</p>

<p>Also, another stupid question, but do you suggest I report my rank as no. 3 or top 1%?</p>

<p>I can’t help with the first part, but I’d say go with the exact rank. </p>

<p>If I did the math correctly, the top 1% of 600 could be ranked 1-6, so I suppose the 3 would be more solid.</p>
