This has probably been discussed before, but I haven’t found anything conclusive. I submitted my common app saying that I will submit SAT tests, but in the SAT test section I set the number of SAT scores I wish to report as zero. This is because when reporting the scores on the common app, it asks for the dates in which you got your highest scores and number of times you took the SAT. Doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose of score choice and how colleges only look at your “highest scores”? When I talked to a Northwestern representative when I ED’ed, he said that it was okay that I didn’t report any SAT scores as long as I sent them the official reports via collegeboard. Is this still okay for the schools I am applying to regular decision and ED II? Some people have said that the self report scores are only to help in the first review, but when a school with so many testing options first reviews my application, will they not look at my SAT scores for the first review if I don’t self report and only “officially” report with collegeboard?
