Reporting Test Scores in Common App

Do I have to report, say, my SAT scores or ACT scores? I don't really want to list the number of times I've taken the test; while it is likely a reasonable number, I'd rather just include the one I'm sending Harvard directly from the ACT.

So if I have "no" selected for self-reporting scores, is that bad?

I’d say no, it’s not bad. But that puts all the more pressure on you to absolutely make sure your official reports get to Harvard on time. With self-reporting, the schools will know your results and can carry on with their review of your application, using the official reports to confirm what they’ve already seen. However, you might hold up the review of your application if the committee has to wait for your score reports to arrive.

That’s why the College Board has score choice – so you can pick and choose the scores you want the colleges to see. Yale is the only school I’m aware that doesn’t allow for score choice, they want all scores from all test dates. But, for Harvard, score-choice is allowed. Just send the score you want them to see and self report the score you are sending.
