Reporting Times

Because there arent any really interesting topics besides the Liberals are dumb thread open, I thought I would stir up conversation by asking what people thought the advantages/disadvantages of showing up earlier or later during the reporting schedule on R Day were.

well my ssn ends in a 0,1,2, or 3 so i show up between 0630 and 0730. it'd probably be best to show up on the earlier side, but not too early. will prepsters be in uniform? should those in the army show up in uniform? i guessing no and no. its probably best not to stand out.

My ssn ends in a 7, 8, or 9, so I don't have to be there until 830. I'm thinking this is good because I won't have as much time to get yelled at and stand around, but I'm sure they have things worked out so that no one has it easier than the others.

It doesn't matter when you show up. You'll end up doing the same things anyway.

The prepsters will be in uniform.

There is no reason to show up early for your time slot. Just be there on time and you will still stand in line a bit.

Here are some photos of the lines to get on the shuttle buses and down at Ike Hall: http://www.west-point.org/family/mem2009/albumview.php?GalleryID=32&EventID=3

Other R Day photos if you back out of that album...

The earlier you show up, the sooner you'll have your 90 seconds to say good-bye. Then the parents can begin the cryfest. So, be on time.

For anyone going out a few days early, you can be one of the volunteers to help the cadre practice for R-Day. Be on the lookout for the request for volunteers. Cadet candidates cannot participate, but family can.

8Iz don't do it! civvies...

"The prepsters will be in uniform." I guess you might be talkin about the USMAPS cadets but I know all the NMMI Civil Preps will not be in uniform. The plan, as someone said before, is to blend in.

My SSN ends in 8, so I do not have to show up until 0930 (at the latest). I'd prefer to be on time/a little early because I hate being rushed. Although in Absolutely American some cadets said they got out of reporting to the cadet in the red sash because the got in late. Although I am not looking forward to it, I do not want to skip reporting because it is one of those things you will always remember.

i'm gunna steal your identity landsy. xxx-xx-xxx8.
i'm gunna put jerri curl in my hair and show up with a mac dre t shirt.
maybe sans the jerri curl. but you'll see some white kind with a mac dre tall tee and be like, "i know him from the internet. he was different"

Yes, to clarify, USMAPS will be in uniform.

It's amazing the number of cadets who say they never reported to the cadet in the red sash on R Day.
