I don't get the point of this post... everyone's getting their decision in at most 2 week whether they received a likely letter or not.

where in md are you from

I'm just wondering...they usually only send a very small percentage of admitted students likely letters right? Like just b/c you didn't receive one doesn't mean your chances are over. In fact, you still have a VERY good chance...right?

yeah, all of the ivys, except for dartmouth, probabaly only send likely letters to 5-15 percent of the regular decision acceptees

Dartmouth: about 1/4 of the acceptees got likelys

Pardon my ignorance, but what are likely letters? I'm a transfer, so I'm not on the same time table as the frosh class. I don't think transfers even get them....but....what are they?

to bluedaisy1234 and arp6487: i'm starting to fret a little about cornell likely letters because according to "uncle ezra" (you can ask questions about cornell, http://ezra.cornell.edu/):
Question 11 - - March 9, 2004 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Does cornell admissions send out likely letters

Dear prospective,

Yes, you are advised if you are accepted or if you are on a waiting list. Is that what you mean? You can check through the website with the password they gave you. Good luck.

Uncle Ezra

i guess that implies that cornell sends likely letters to all admitted applicants....

Yay! just got my likely letter.

Postmarked March 15

Engineering

1520/2310, 4.0, 1/350, Strong EC's

West Virginia

not to be pretentious, but i expect a "likely" letter from cornell. maybe i should check my mail, i havent gotten one yet. the reason i expect it is not cuz im snobby, but because i received a "likely" email from columbia SEAS, which IMO is better than cornell.

skittles// i'm pretty sure that cornell doesn't send likely letters to "all admitted applicants"
