D has taken the SAT twice and is taking her second ACT today (without writing this time). The only score on the SAT that is better than the ACT collection is the Essay, for which she got an 8 both times on the SAT and 6 on the ACT.

Ten of her schools require ACT with Writing, but don't necessarily put much weight on it. Wondering if it's worth the expense to send one of the SAT scores just to get the higher Essay score into the mix. Obviously, we already have to send at least one and possibly 2 ACT scores (depending on today's outcome).

Ideas?

How many schools did she apply to??? I would have her check with admissions to see if they will accept her test scores from her GC. Almost all of the schools our kids applied to did. That could save you a LOT of money. If they don’t, I guess it really depends on how strong her test scores are to start with and where she falls compared to other applicants. If she has an ACT of 30 and the midrange for a school is 25, I would just send the ACT scores and call it done. If the opposite was true and she had a 25 at a 30 midrange school, I would send her best SAT score.

edit–go go along with that, if she has a 25 at a school where the 25 is midrange, no real reason to send a higher writing score either.
