I know I've already posted this, but somebody closed the thread and i still confused as to what this is; "I've just received a letter in the mail asking me to join the National Society of High School Scholars. The membership costs $60, which guarantees membership for life. It also says I can put this "achievement" on my college applications. I was just wondering if this was a legitimate thing or if I'm being scammed for money?"

It’s basically a scam, and not worth the money. Your thread was closed because there are already lots of threads about this topic.

No, it’s fake. Stop posting about it if it’s been closed; you have been answered already.

It’s a total scam. Pretty much the top 20% of all high school students get it.
Besides, your question was answered multiple times in previous threads.
If you assume that it’s a huge achievement and everything and that you should keep posting about it to inflate your ego, please stop; pretty much everyone on here got it sometime in their high school career.

MaineLonghorn posted an explanation in your previous thread, which I will quote here:

It is a joke. Don’t bother. Don’t repost this thread again.
