All depends on the school, mostly some publics I think. Here’s an example:

[Tuition & Fees by Major](http://www.sdstate.edu/academic/tuition-fee-pricing.cfm)

^ I don’t think I’ve seen it for our state and neighboring schools! My kids go to private and it’s only one tuition but the fees depend - lab, private music lesson etc. Best to look up the school you have in mind. It can’t be too hard to google ;)

^
Please note, I didn’t say ‘most publics’ charge by major, but rather: of the schools that do, most are publics.

Many of the public universities do this. Chances are that some privates as well. You need to look at the tuition and fee information for the places you might apply to, and find out what their policies are.

Our state flagship (University of Illinois) does. There’s about a $5000 surcharge if you’re majoring in business, engineering or a few other areas.

so basically it all depends on the school itself?? and thanks for ur replys…appreciate it!
