I plan to study at BU. Are there any republicans that teach there or attend that school? BU is known to house Howard Zinn, notorious for his "selective" history documents. Am I going to be constantly exposed to that hard left rhetoric for the rest of my college career?

look where its at, BOSTON, Massachusettes, heartland of the hard left.

id look into a conservative university

John Silber, who was president way back when I was there back in the 70s and only stepped down as Chancellor last year, was a very conservative Texan who kicked a lot of liberal butt during his tenure. Yes, Howard Zinn is there, but I think you will find far less PC nonsense at BU (and more conservative faculty members) than you would find in such supposedly "conservative" places as say, Dartmouth. Silber left a big mark there. Oh how they hated him back when I was there, but he was one tough cookie and stuck with his program.

all i can say is, you're in for a long fight, but don't give up. study where you want to study and exercise judgement.

no matter how republican the chancellor is, it's in the heart of boston. Enough said.

Potato-
I am a staunch Republican. I attend Dartmouth (no bastion of conservatism, to be sure, but perhaps more moderate than some.)

The politics of your school only matter to the extent that you let it bother you. Being surrounded by liberals (and living with one freshman year) strengthened my political beliefs and helped me learn by defending them.

I wouldn't rule out a school just because of its politics. If you only look at universities that are "conservative" you will be severely limiting your options, and missing out on a chance to really develop your politics.
