Has the Harvard Admissions Committee contacted anyone for more info regarding your applications? At the end of February an admissions officer emailed me asking for copies of my research papers, but I haven't heard anything since (they didn't even notify me upon recieving/ not recieving the papers after I mailed them out). I'm a little worried because I haven't been contacted in regards to financial aid from any colleges recently, except for Penn (something I sent them must have gotten lost in the mail...).

So, any other news?

Thatr's why you send things return receipt requested and/or certified...or at least express post office, so it can be tracked!!!

Sometimes I wonder how the adcom can distinguish between good research papers. Especially for high school students, the research is merely a reflection of the lab and the intelligence of the researchers you're working with. Like, how can you compare the work produced by someone researching at an underfunded state college with half-broken equipment (literally, it was) with the work of someone who had access to Ivy-League facilities and was spoon-fed? But when I think back to my experience, I'm almost glad that I had to think for myself or stay at the lab til 2 AM to repeat experiements conducted while the machines were breaking down. Even if they don't get into every college, at least people in those kinds of circumstances will have the independence and endurance to succeed in future research.

BTW, I did track the papers I sent and know that they arrived in Cambridge, MA. But it would have been nice if they sent a confirmation.
