I heard that most UC’s that ask for your Senior High School Transcripts mean that you are almost “in”. Well Merced requested for my transcript and I sent it in… What are my chances? They emailed me back saying they will tell me their “final decisions” within 2 - 4 weeks.

It means you're borderline, and that, if you demonstrate strong senior year academics, you'll cross it. It doesn't mean you're "almost in", since a significant number of borderline applicants are nevertheless rejected, only that you have a heckuva better chance of getting in than the standard someone who didn't get anything (either that they were accepted or rejected)

Alright thanks!
I did not recieve any D's or F's last semester and Actually improved my GPA =) Gah I cant believe im worrying about this...I heard almost everyone gets into UC Merced =.=

Not everyone gets in. It is still a UC, whose mission is to serve the top 12% or so of high school graduates so it isn't open to all. Don't confuse general excellence and achievement with what you may see here on the CC forum. Merced is trying to build a certain type of school and you just may be exactly what they are looking for. Good luck!

I really do hope I get in though..So I am borderline hm... What are my chances? I got no D's or F's last semester... Ah...

I got a request too, but it's from UCSB. I didn't get any other requests from UCSD or UCLA, so would that mean I'm most likely rejected there already?

Request means you are borderline in, as long as you dont have D's or F's that semester...

UCLA and others (Cept UCI I think) have not started asking for requests I think.
