My daughter got accepted to Purdue (her first choice). Due to several reasons (both financial and maturity level) she needs to take a gap year. However, when I checked out the reasons for a gap year on Purdue website, none of the options really fit. She will work and volunteer during the year, but I am not sure she will be doing anything that can be called “extraordinary” . Am I taking it too literally/overthinking? How easy is it to get an approval for a gap year at Purdue?
I believe working and volunteering are allowable reasons for a gap year. I’m sorry but I’m not sure about the ease of approval.
