Hi guys,

I know there's an actual "What are my chances" section, and I'd appreciate any feedback on my chances, but that's not my main problem right now.

I am currently a freshman (class of 2014) at Western Michigan University, but would like to transfer to the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. I've been doing research on the U of M site about transferring, and have been doing my best to take the recommended courses and keep good grades.

But, I have a few questions still. This year, U of M started using the Common App for students wishing to apply. The way I understand it, transfer students also have to apply to a specific college at U of M (Engineering, LSA, Kinesiology etc.).

My first question is this: as a transfer student, can I apply to multiple colleges/schools within U of M?

Another question I have relates to deadlines. Since I'm a freshman, I'd like to transfer to U of M for the 2nd semester of my sophomore year (Winter 2012), or my junior year (Fall 2012). I'm kind of confused about the deadlines U of M has on their site, because they have deadline dates without years.

Also, the Common App only has Fall 2011 and Spring 2011 as options for transfer terms. In order to make sure I have the best chances, I'd like to apply as early as possible. Since the Common App does not yet have the terms I would like to apply for, I'm assuming I just have to wait until they are available?

And if anyone would like to comment on my chances, feel free. I know my high school info is nothing amazing, but I've been hearing that they focus on college grades and ec's for transfer students.
