I am a Cornell student currently in the College of Engineering. I am interested in the Department of Art and art classes, but I dont have a whole lot of experience in art at all and I was wondering if I would not be prepared enough to do well in the introductory classes (especially painting and drawing, since a few of the other classes dont assume prior knowledge of their topics). If you guys could give me any information about the introductory art courses above and beyond what is in the course catalog (especially pertaining to what prior knowledge is assumed), or point me in the direction of more information, I would greatly appreciate it. I did contact the art department with this question as well, and I learned that there is not always room for non-art students and that I should contact a specific person in the art department, from whom a response is now pending.
