Requesting Roommates ^^

Hey, I was just wondering whether it's possible at most colleges to put in preferences for certain types of roommates. I have a special request since I'm a competitive bodybuilder, so I'd greatly appreciate someone with the same lifestyle in terms of sleeping early and long, eating and food preparation, gym time etc.

Yes, that is possible.

although it might be tough to find that match…but you can definitely make requests

Wonderful!
Thanks for your replies :)

You could also try looking at the school’s facebook group and see if anyone is into that stuff and then you could request each other.

okgirl, that might be considered stalking/creeping

post something in your school’s “class of xxxx” facebook group saying that you’re a body builder and if there’s another body builder(or someone who would be a good fit as a roommate) looking for a room mate

lethargytm, how’s that creepy? It’s no different than finding a roommate that way. Instead, your just hoping for a body builder.

yea but i dont look for my roommate by searching possible candidates on facebook. i guess it would be less creepier for girls

My school’s roommate preference survey had an option to request a room with an athlete in the same sport. That could be a good option for you. You will definitely be able to indicate when & how long you like to sleep, etc. But your best bet is to post to your class’s Facebook group. That’s how my roommate and I met (and no, lethargytm, I’m not a girl). It’s great to know ahead of time and eliminate all the randomness.

OP: Yes, but it largely depends on the type of school you’re going to. Most state universities don’t have really detailed preferences. I’m pretty most smaller schools do have preference surveys. Also, if your school don’t you might want to use the facebook method that Ok talked about.
