I am applying SCEA to Yale and would not send out the majority of my planned applications if accepted. Is it safe for me to wait until after 12/15 before requesting that CB send SAT scores? $9 x lots = lots of $$ saved. Some of the RD deadlines are 1/1.

Thanks for posting this Keil. S’s Scores for the SCEA school here haven’t been sent yet, with a 11/1 deadline. I’m hoping schools aren’t anal on this, since all the CB report does is verify what the student put on the Common App. Plus, I read a codicil on the CB site that suggests some schools accept test scores from Oct and Nov test sittings even for the EA period.

You always need to check with the particular school because there can be exceptions to the following general rule which applies to almost all colleges: the application deadline is NOT the test score deadline and the scores can arrive after that deadline date. That applies to both the early action deadline, for which majority of schools with a Nov 1 deadline even take Nov tests, and the final deadline, for which most like to see scores show up within two weeks after the deadline but many with a Januray 1 deadline will even take Jan test scores.
