Can you request a copy of your kids's transcript as parents from their high school? Does the transcript show class rank of your kids?

i think your son/daughter needs to ask for it to be released to you. that's how it worked at my hs

The forms at our school have a space for kid or parent to fill out the request.

I requested my my children's transcripts before applications went out in order to make sure that everything was correct (courses, grades, etc.) I think the transcript does show class rank, but I don't think it was filled in yet on the copy I got.

I just picked up a copy of my daughter's transcript. At this point it does NOT have class rank on it (they had to recalculate all the ranks...and weighted GPAs). But I just went to the GC and he actually printed it out from his printer.

Our school provides a "draft" at the first Jr. year college planning meeting for parents and juniors. One can check for errors/missing info. This is the first time we see GPA, as it is never calculated until the transcript which goes to colleges. There are no ranks, only a school profile which shows how the GPA's break down into deciles. We then get a copy of the actual one going to colleges in Sr. year. Still no ranks, as this is only done in the form of a "top 10%" for accolades at graduation, along with a Val/Sal (two vals this year, no sal).

wzzz, Is your school indicating you can't have it as some kind of "privacy" issu?

Our school refuses to give official transcripts to any student or parent - they only send them to colleges/other programs. If we want to check grades, rank etc, we can ask for an "unofficial transcript", which is basically a printout of your computer record of all grades and the most recent rank information
