Requiescat in Pace -- His Holiness, Pope John Paul II

The Vatican has just announced his holiness has passed away. Although a Protestant, I am deep in grief for his passing. He was a great man, and an extraordinary figure for the Catholic church.

May the Lord be with his soul and us as we mourn the passing of "the Great Communicator."

A moment of silence, if you will.

Rest in peace, Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II. You will assuredly be missed, although I am happy that you will finally be in the presence of the one who you dedicated your life to.

Pope John Paul II was not only an extraordinary figure for the Roman Catholic Church, but also a saviour for all of mankind. He has returned home. Amen.

Amen, rest in peace.

Rest in Peach Holy Father.

The world has lost a extraordinary, remarkable, and amazing man today

You will be dearly missed.

Even as an atheist, I actually did worry over his death. RIP John Paul II.

There's a picture slide show on his life. He forgave his would-be assasin on page 7. What a nice guy eh?

Wow... I'm not really a religious person, however I will agree that a great man has died. That picture with his would-be assasin is incredable. I could not imagin forgiving the man that tired to kill me.

Our beloved pope has died, but his legacy is one that won't die with his body. It will, I hope, imbue all humans with a sense of duty - a duty to live their lives to serve others. That is the only thing life is worth living for - for the sake of others. I hope the Servant of the Servants of God rests in peace.
