Dear fellow members,

I am a highschool graduate from Nepal looking to apply for undergraduate study in US with computer engineering as major. I have got my TOEFL tomorrow and hope the score would go 95+. But I had my SAT on Oct and it had pretty less score of 1620( 1070 on CR and maths). It is not that I couldn’t score better but dut to difficult circumstances here in Nepal like strikes and all causing disturbance in my preparation. I hardly had 15 days to prepare. However my highschool grades are gud (77.7/100) .I topped grade 10 and was second in grade 9 too…

I have been using common app to apply to few colleges and universities. But still I am feeling insecure if I could get sufficient scholarship because my financial background is not that strong to push me up. In Nepal I could finish my 4 yrs bachelors in the same field with approximately $5000 and that is what I can afford. In course I got chance to go through few of your posts about safety colleges. But I wasn’t able to find one for me. Would you guys please help me? It would be better if the college or university is SAT flexible, has computer engineering as major and provide gud need based scholarship or financial aid. I would be very grateful to you guys if u find one or few for me…required an immediate help. for any assistance you have…

Then get in touch with the counselors at the advising center in Nepal: https://educationusa.state.gov/centers/us-educational-foundation-nepal They will be able to tell you which colleges and universities in the US have admitted students like you recently, and whether or not those students received sufficient financial aid.
