Required books not in stock anywhere

My DS has a computer science class that requires 2 books that are not available anywhere. Any students or former students with experience with this issue? Thanks so much!

If the URichmond bookstore cannot get the book then the instructor will have to change the text.

Which class? Usually they are available at the bookstore. They just might not have them in yet. If its a class Charlesworth teaches, his courses often have binders of material that get printed and won’t be available until right before the semester starts.

Thanks for weighing in! It’s Comp Sci 150 with Barnett. He’s got 2 required Java textbooks that each are $100+ at the bookstore, but listed as unavailable. I found 1 of them at Barnes and Noble, but only at Barnes and Noble, and the companion book isn’t available anywhere online. So, should he just wait and see if the books are eventually stocked?

Call the school bookstore and ask.

Failing that, I would email the prof and ask.

Ok, I just looked at the textbook requirements. There’s actually only one book required, but you have the option of buying the loose leaf or e-text version of the textbook from the bookstore. Note that the book also appears to be listed on amazon, but isn’t in stock. It’s possible that the book isn’t available yet, since it appears to be a new edition. It would not hurt to contact the UR bookstore and/or Dr. Barnett and ask about it, though.

OK, great! Thank you to everyone! We didn’t clue in that it was the same book, different formats. So much to learn! DS will call the bookstore on Mon.

My DD rented most of her textbooks from Amazon, FYI.
