I'm in the first semester in CC, and I found out there were numerous required classes to graduate CC. However, I don't understand how community college has required classes for graduation. Is that mean I can't transfer although I'm accepted from the school I applied? I asked to my advisor and she just told me that I have to take those classes to graduate. There are people who transfer only spending an year in cc, and the required classes in my school are too many that I won't finish within 2 semesters. Anyone has an idea about required classes in cc? Should I take every of them or can I just take the classes I want and some prerequisitive courses for the school I apply to?

Transfer and graduation are two different things.

You can graduate from a community college with an associate's degree (I will) by completing a specified course of study.

However, it is not a requirement (at least in California) to have completed an associate's degree program to transfer to a four-year college. Instead, you need to complete a transfer general education program. If, along the way, you want to do an AA major program too, you can, but you don't have to.

So, short answer is, just take the classes you want to take and the prereqs which will transfer to your preferred college.
