Required Classes

One quick question,

Are there certain classes that your college requires you to take? Or do you simply have to take the classes that work towards your major?

Misha

certain colleges have different requirements, and UC Berkeley itself has certain requirements, sometimes, with ap scores, you get credit for some of them, but there are always courses you'll need to take in order to graduate, besides your regular major prereqs.

According to the Earn Your Degree PDF on the L&S website, http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/fp/EYD.pdf (big file).

I have A few university and Berkeley requirements. These are few, but, Then I have to have a massive amount of courses as per L&S Requirements.

What I'm wondering is if this applies to people intending to major in CS. There are a plethora of requires classes to be accepted into the major and I can simply not see how I can take all of these classes.

Ah, upon closer inspection, most of these L&S Requirements are met by high school classes or SAT/ACT Test scores, am I correct?

Misha

The L&S breadth requirements are not covered by anything. You must take these 7 classes at Cal or their equivalents at a CC.
