Do you like having required classes in order to graduate?

No, who does?

Yes we do. There's a certain number of credits and state tests that we have to pass in order to get a diploma on one of two levels (but a monkey could get either one). The only requirement that bogs me down is the 4 years of PE/half a year of health requirement :/ THey should at least get a variety of classes to choose from.

Lmao she asked if you liked the required classes.

And my answer is NO!

No. /**************/

I'm a he, BTW. I for one actually like the requirements. Gym, for instance, is one of my favorite classes. That is required all 4 years and the only other requirements are health in 9th and 10th grade and and half-year of art.

Sorry about the confusion. ^__^

not at all. We get barely any electives at my school and it sucks so much. The only thing we get to choose is spanish or a college class or which engineering class to take (civil or electrical). That's it. My hatred of core classes is the reason why the college I go to CANNOT have a core. I would die.

PE is a stupid and useless, and the requirement I hate the most. I would like to know how 30 minutes of standing around in the gym (as no one does anything) will help fight obesity in any society, especiallly American one at that. Instead of a smart, academic class that one could be taking to learn something, they require PE (which once again, enhance neither your physical nor academic ablilities.)

As an elective, it's fine, because people signing up would actually do something (as they chose it.) But requirement? What's the point?

I guess it depends on the school/class, but my gym class (especially this year), is really competitive and really gets into the activities. We have to do a dance unit and everyone seems to get into it and enjoy it.

I hated gym and health. And several required academic classes.

But I have a feeling if we didn't have any, people would just take Art Appreciation or whatever and we'd all be morons (although not kids like the ones on here, who would probably be taking 54 AP classes anyway).

Then again, required classes don't seem to be making a dent in the moron population either....

Hm, for your schools, are the people that participate on sports teams exempt from the gym requirement?

We have to have 1 credit of gym. Those who play 2 years of sports at the school only have to have .5 credits.

It's alright... though this stupid personal planning class really messes me up. I only have to take 1 class next year for me to graduate haha.

I have to take my other credit and my computer credit during senior year with all the freshman. Oh well.

I hate having a PE requirement for all semesters. First, not an athlete. Second, I would be so much less stressed if I had those blocks to choose a elective I like or take frees.

Our two integrated science required classes are pretty pointless and a waste of time. Rather than introducing students to different areas of science -- which is its objective -- they expose students but don't go deep enough into detail to actually teach them anything.

Other than that, I don't mind required classes.

I didn't like Earth Science. It's required and only class I hated. Oh and US Hist cause I already had it twice before.

no. i had to take woodshop..

PE is useless. The other requirements are fine.
