Required courses for college admissions

Ok, so you know how some colleges say you need 4 years of English?

Well, do half year courses count as full year ones?

What I mean is, you know how a lot of colleges require 4 years of English nowadays, right? And I have had full year English classes for freshman, sophomore and junior year. But for the upcoming senior year, I'm only going to have a half year course for English.

Would that satisfy the requirement though? Or would I have to take another english class/

and out of curiosity if i just applied and didn't meet that one requirement, is it basically guaranteed that im not gonna get accepted? :(

I think by 4 years, they usually mean 4 credits so yes, a full yr english class would probably be ideal. Also, I can’t say you absolutely won’t get in if you don’t have 4 English credits, but for some schools, 4 yrs of english are required ( not just recommended) so if that is the case, then it will be very difficult for you to get in.

4 years of English basically means you have to take 8 semesters of English throughout high school. Taking only 7 semesters is very risky, and many colleges may just plain shut you out for that reason.
