Required Courses

I was looking through the course catalog and looking at the requirements, and it seems to me that after taking the courses you need for your school (CALS), and major, there isn't a lot of room to take other random classes. I remember hearing numerous times that you can take a wide variety of courses at Cornell, so can anyone tell me if I'm reading this wrong?

it depends on your major. if you're a science or engineering major, or even if you're in one of the "programs", like hotel or architecture, you will have one elective class per semester at most. The number of choices are enormous, but the issue is whether or not you will have room in your schedule.

Don't worry, once you get to college, you won't want that much flexibility in your schedule. the whole "what am I going to take!?!" question will be much easier if you don't really get to choose.
