<p>I am helping two young women with college apps, and I know basically nothing about Stanford. Both are considering applying.</p>
<p>What courses are required for freshmen of all majors? Can someone send me a link to the academic requirements?</p>
<p>One student would be a studio art major, the other a linguistic major. Both are weak in math. Thus, I am wondering about math as a required class for either major.</p>

<p>sbjdorlo, Stanford has general education requirements for all undergraduates, including area (distribution) requirements, writing/rhetoric, and language. The area requirements do include math. I haven’t met many people here who are weak in math, but I think the least-demanding math classes that fulfill the minimun requirement are probably intro stats, intro single-variable calc, and beginning programming (involving basic discrete math).</p>
