I'm looking back at my application that I submitted by the Dec. 1 deadline, and it says that there are items missing. Okay. So I check to see what's missing and it says my "Combined SAT Score or ACT Score" still needs to be submitted. The thing is, I sent my SAT scores from Collegeboard to USC on the Sunday before the Early deadline (approximately 10 days ago) so I'm not sure if they're still processing it or if they haven't actually got it yet. I was about to email them but I wanted to check if this was a common issue first. Thanks.

When you order score reports sent from the CB, they can take up to 14 business days to process those orders (!) You should check your account to see the date they say they were actually sent. In addition, some schools download the scores electronically (I think USC does this–but not certain). Some schools download them weekly in batches–so again, could be a delay. Lastly, there may be a lag between when they were received by admissions and how soon they update the accounts to show they are received.

You can call the CB customer service or call USC admissions. They do not track which student is calling and understand that applicants are trying to make sure they have completed files.

Will USC still consider my application “early” as long as I sent the scores before the Dec. 1 deadline?

There is usually a little leeway–but we can’t tell you exactly. It’s best to call them and get the real answer. Please post here with the answer for others who may be nervous.

Did you fax the unofficial report?

had the same problem…they said that it takes a week or two to update
