Hi! Doesn't anybody know where to find the list of recquired classes for the MAP thingey for STern or SCPS? Thanks =] Are they really annoying to fulfill? Because I really hate math and science and ...just the thought of taking more of those classes that has nothing to do with my major bums me out.

stern-calc, one natural science, conv west, world culture, 2 writing the essay (definitely the biggest pain)

do you take all of these freshman year? are they alll a bigg hassle? and which ones can be skipped using AP credit? Thanks!

1) Most (90%+) people take them all freshman year, since Stern has a pretty big core outside of MAP classes, plus you don't wanna be dealing with ConWest as a senior =p

2) Hassle varies by class/prof. Most would say WTEssay is the worst of them, I'd tend to agree and maybe say Conwest as well depending on teacher/section.

3) You can skip Natural Science with AP Credit (at least one of Bio, Chem, Physics, maybe others as well)

I mean, if you end up in a crappy section of the course, yes, it's going to suck. That's all luck of the draw though. Just be glad that, at Stern, you don't have to take the full MAP program. Liberal arts core curriculums suck.

Why is "Writing the Essay" considered so awful? Anyone got a sample syllabus or something?
