Colleges usually have a list of courses that they require or recommended applicants to have completed in high school. For example, Stanford recommends 4 years of English, 4 years of math, 3 of history/social studies, etc. My question is, if I take, for example, a physics class at my local community college over the summer, would that count into the required/recommended course count, even though it's not a high school course?

Yes, it would count! This is because you are taking those courses in your high school career. It would be like saying that doing extra course work will actually hurt you, which is absurd!

OK, thank you. I’m just trying to make a schedule that’ll cover all of the classes I want, and allow me to enjoy my time in high school. It seems like that doesn’t happen enough. :)
