Required SAT 2 for Economics.

My purpose is to be a student of one of the following Universities:Harvard,Berkley,Pensilvania,Stanford.Economics is my desire, that's why I will study this subject.
I will be grateful if you tell which SAT 2 better to pass to increase chances of admission.

Either it is a requirement or not. If not, you do NOT need to take it as it will not increase your chances of admissions. Your intention of studying Economics is irrelevant as each of the four do not admit students based upon intended major.

You should go to each college’s website and learns specifically what the testing requirements are:

Harvard, Berkley: you must submit 2 SAT Subject tests

Penn: the SAT and two SAT Subject Tests OR the ACT Plus Writing

Stanford: SAT Subject Tests are recommended but not required. Applicants who do not take SAT Subject Tests will not be at a disadvantage.

But to be frank, you need to become accustomed to the requirements and how to find them and not asking simple questions to internet strangers.

For Stanford, the Subject tests are strongly recommended by most advisers and counselors. Indeed, 95% of admitted students submitted SAT2 scores.
If it is required, it is absolutely required. If it is recommended, you are still encouraged to submit the scores. It does still have some weight in the admission process. Although it would not be a make it or break it situation, it will help your competitiveness. Only for the schools that make it clear SAT2 would not be part of the reviewing criteria that applicants who do not take SAT Subject Test will not be at a disadvantage. For those schools, the SAT2 score may not show up on your application even if you submitted them (e.g. UIUC, Purdue, U of Minnesota, etc).
To pick the best SAT2 test for you, it will be depending on your ability, your intended major, and the school requirement.

You can follow the requirements of the test flexible schools: Math2, English or History, plus either Science or a Foreign Language (which CANNOT be your native language).
That would allow you to apply to more schools than the few you listed.
However, for schools of that caliber, you’ll not only need excellent grades in your school work and excellent test scores, you’ll also need at least one prize, award, or distinction at the national (or international) level, and your essays will have to be excellent (check out the website “Essay Hell” for practical advice.)

I know requirements provided by the Universities. My question is which subject exactly better to take if I wanna go economics?
Math level 2 and…?Im good at chemistry, but is it relevant for economics faculty?

At this point your major does not play a role. Pick up a sat I subject you are good at.

Berkeley does not require SAT subject tests (unless needed to fulfill an a-g subject requirement), although applicants to the College of Engineering or College of Chemistry are encouraged to send scores for the SAT subject tests in math level 2 and a science (the economics major is not in these divisions).

Thanks, guys!

For economics, Math2, probably History or English (there’s no “social science” SAT subject like Economics, Sociology, etc), plus another one where you feel you’ll do best.
However what subjects you choose doesn’t really matter. Typically, students change their mind between December and May, and again by September and again throughout freshman year. Fewer than 20% freshmen major in what they thought they would - that’s what great about the American college system: you can try out several majors during your first 3 semesters, see what you’re good at or not, discover new passions, etc.

If you’re thinking about applying to Wharton, they highly recommend taking the Math II subject test.

For undergraduate what is better in your opinion, Wharton or Harvard?

Come back in April if you have been accepted by both. H generally has better FinAid. Are you an international applicant? What are your SAT Is? GPA?

I’m from Kazakhstan.I’m still in school(10th grade). From winter semester I’m starting studying in Columbia International School in Canada(High-School).In Kazakhstan I took 3rd place in National Chemistry Olympiad, that’s why Chemistry Subject Test is very easy for me even now, I definitely take 800.
Math level 2 test has some topics which I didn’t study, I even don’t have this lessons(advanced functions, statistics, ect), but now I’m studying it by myself.
I can do about 35 questions from 50.Im sure I will take necessary score after 2 last years of school.
