Requirements for final IB results?

It's my first trip or so around the forum, so first of all, hi guys! :D

I'm an international applicant currently doing the IB Diploma. I applied to UW with a school-predicted score of 37/45 with a bunch of other things, such as professional certificates so on. I've been stuck in waiting list until few days ago when they offered me a place for Business Admin.

However, doing my final IB exams right now, I am worried that my final results will not be as good as predicted. Do any of you happen to know what sort of final IB result UW look for from prospective freshmen? UW is my top choice and it would be sad to have my offer withdrawn..

Any help is appreciated! :)

not sure if this helps, but most of my friends that applied to UW in their freshmen year (2 years ago) got in even without getting the whole ib diploma.

The schools in America do not care about your IB scores…heck they don’t even care if you don’t even get the IB diploma. So you have no worries…as long as your grades don’t drop dramatically, you won’t be rescinded!

thanks for the replies!

this is in fact my percise worry though, because, what is the meaning of “grades dropping dramatically”? For one I do know if anybody makes changes to their high school subjects, it invalidates the offers. If anybody knows where UW draws the line, that would really help!

^ i remember at the end of our senior year of hs, a couple of my friends were worried about getting dropped because of their D in math. UW didn’t do anything.

I think as long as you don’t fail any of your classes, you should be fine. However, you should still try to keep up your grades no matter what :)

As for the IB scores, you should talk to your school’s IB Coordinator and ask them what you need to do to send your scores to UW. The one at our school just gave us all a form to fill out with the school we would be attending and the city it was in (for clarification purposes) and she did the rest. Although your scores won’t affect getting in that much, you should be able to get credit and/or placement for a lot of your scores, so definitely send them in.

Wow that’s awesome, thanks for all the info guys!

The reason why I started such a forum topic is really because I’m somewhat worried about my final transcripts. Even though it’s summer holiday for me already, the wait until July 7th (final transcripts day) is simply horrible. Hope everything would go according to plan.

Good luck to all of us waiting for the final transcripts!!!
