requirements for tag

so I spoke to a counselor today and she slightly discouraged me when she said UCI is out of the picture because I didn’t fulfill one if the requirements . I’m a chemistry major and I’m suppose to have a B in laboratory classes which i do except in one I have a C, so because of this she days I don’t fit the requirements. I’m slightly confused and unsure if I should still apply for tag anyways since it’s one C and the rest are B’s or if i shouldn’t bother . …

Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in required courses below:

Complete one year of general chemistry with laboratory with a grade of B or better in each course
Complete one year of approved calculus.

You do not meet the requirements as stated with a C.

You can apply but TAG will be denied.

TAG is surrounded by bright lines - everything is cut and dried, you meet the requirement, you are in… you don’t and your TAG will be rejected. Now, you can TAG to a campus you qualify for and apply to UCI without TAG. As long as you meet the other requirements and have a competitive GPA, they will consider your ap.
